Thanks for your prayers.

We never heard anything more about Seth's stolen bike, but thanks to Seth's sister, he now has a brand new one. That was a wonderful blessing and completely unexpected. Seth really loves his new bike. And I really love that I can use the car again.
Anyway, thank you all for your prayers. We are really thankful to God for giving us such generous and caring friends and relatives. God bless!
P.S. After researching on the internet we also were able to find a much better lock that will hopefully prevent this problem from recurring. However, Seth is still not taking any chances and is currently keeping the bike in our apartment during the night hours.

Prayer Request

This morning, Seth (my husband) found the thick steel-cable lock that was on his bike cut through, and his $140 bike (a men's Schwinn Sidewinder) stolen.
His bike was his primary way to go to school and on other errands, in order to keep in shape and save gas.
It was a really nice bike and we had added a few improvements. We really can't afford another one. I bought the best lock I could find to keep it safe, and it still wasn't enough.
I'm trying really hard not to be really angry at the people who did this to us, and trust in God that there is a reason for this, and He will work it out for good.
When I lived with my family in Brazil, my dad's guitar was stolen, but within a few days the thief returned it, claiming that he had had nightmares of God judging him because of his stealing from one of God's children and just couldn't keep the guitar. Unfortunately, I know a lot of Americans are not as easily convicted, but please pray that God will bring Seth's bicycle back to us, or provide us with a new one.
I guess I should be thankful that at least they didn't take our car.
Thank you for your prayers.

So what's new with me?

The answer would be basically everything!
Though I still have the same husband, thankfully.
I'm not sure the baby is still the same one- she has changed so much! She is currently trying to walk, and she has a tooth coming in. She'll be a year old in less than a month! How time flies!
I am now living in Lansing. Seth, Arwen and I moved into an apartment here so that Seth could start medical school. He's already finishing his second week. He is very busy studying almost all the time.
Though I miss Seth's family and the peacefulness of the country, I am very glad to no longer be a 40-minute drive from the nearest Meijer. I can (and did) actually walk to the nearest park with a children's playground. Arwen came with me in the stroller and got to swing in the baby swing, which she enjoyed very much.
Another plus from living in the city is we now have DSL/Wi-Fi in our apartment. Sooooooo much nicer than the crummy dial-up that we had in Vestaburg.
Finally, I really like our apartment. It's right on the border of all the MSU research farms, so it feels like we're still in the country even though we're not. We can see horses out our window, but we can also hear the traffic on the freeway. It makes for an interesting world.
Unfortunately, I still have some unpacking and organizing to do, even though today marks our 2-week anniversary of being here. So I'd better go work on that...

Only 4 more weeks...

I am really looking forward to summer! School has made my life way too busy, though I have enjoyed a lot of it.
One cool thing, though...
In my Child Lit class we have book talks, which means we bring a book to class and talk about it (duh).
After we all talk, then we vote on whose book we like best, and today my book won!
The book was Fairyopolis, which my family gave me for my birthday, so I guess I really have them to thank for it. Of course, this is the first time I've won, and only one win doesn't mean much (the person who wins the most gets a prize at the end of the semester, but I think I'd have to win the next two, which are the last two, as well, to even tie with the person who currently has the most wins), but it felt good all the same.
Other than that, I'm just excited that it's so sunny outside.
Oh, and Inkheart and Inkspell are really good books. That's all I've got to say about that.

Baby's growing up!!!

Arwen said "Papa" and "Mama" on Sunday.
I am not kidding, she really did.
And she said "Papa" to Seth and "Mama" to me.
She's started making the sounds recently, but on Sunday she formed them into specific words.
I am amazed. I can't even describe how warm and wonderful it makes me feel to have her look right at me and say, "Mama!"

She is also crawling... really crawling!
